Some interesting background about me...

My name is Ejun Low and a huge part of my passion (and business) involves capturing people with my adopted style of portrait photography and digital imaging.

I am raised in an average chinese family in Singapore with strong traditional values and both my parents are successful business owners that obeyed the formalities of law and ethics. It is I, however, that ventured out (some say rebel) at a very young age to dabble in Music and the Arts - picking up the piano before most children could learn to read and subsequently enrolling myself into a visual arts school (Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts) that allows me to broaden my interest in design and visual communication.

I thought long and hard before deciding on a career path for myself. With the pressure of my parents being successful in their individual fields, I came to an early realisation that my job needed to be more than performances or filming another short film and the trigger came when I met a partner with the same drive and passion as I have. Our determination and the synergy in communication and visual arts started our first dream of running our own design agency - Anamics Pte Ltd later renamed as Anamics Creative Group Pte Ltd. - www.anamics.com

Anamics was a bitter sort of success, and in our early days of operations, we depended heavily on contacts we have made over the years. With whatever dollars and cents we have saved, we invested heavily on facilities and a team of remarkable designers to eventually see to our clients needs. In our 2nd year in business, we doubled our revenue and in our 3rd, we doubled that once again. The success and motivation was attributed largely to my team of very excellent managers and design team and I am very proud to call industry giants like Raffles Hotels and Resorts and Citigroup amongst my list of prestigeous clients.

As Anamics grew, I also started to re-think my role within the business - ever keen to increase our reach to the regional markets. In 2007, together with another partner, we formed an imaging and marketing team in Indonesia and registered a second company, BlackArts Imaging Pte Ltd - a Singapore registered company that has its based in Singapore but serving our regional clients in the field of Photography and Imaging solutions.

All this time, my life has been a juggle between my passion in photography as well as my commitment to the companies and throughout my relatively short years doing commercial portrait photography, I have also a varied requests for private photography commisions, working with new models and working with people who fancy my particular (some might say peculiar!) style of portrait photography. This website is thus a resource for my clients that wish to engage my services on a different level of formality then what they are used to when using Anamics or BlackArts Imaging.

Over here, most clients are in direct contact with the passionate side of me - The photographer and the artist that they trust enough to capture images for their memories. Along with my services and portrait packages within this site, I have also dedicated various resources to the understanding of my working habits, portrait modeling as well as a full glossary of photography and technical terms which might be of benefit to learners and guests interested in the fine art of modeling and photography.

In Photography, I use a very humble range of equipments for my private assigments - adequate for my client's needs. They include my current camera of choice the Canon 5D along with a fine range of Canon's L series lenses with the 85mm 1.2 as my personal choice for most of my portrait captures and the 70-200mm 2.8 IS for most of my outdoor assignments. In the studio, I use pretty much only Enlinchrom's range of strobes and lighting accessories along with other quality products from Manfrotto and Photoflex for their diverse range of diffusers and reflectors. For spot on color accuracy, I pretty much depend on my trusty Expodisc with any creative imaging works done largely with Adobe's Creative Suite 3.

I frequently hold private test routines and invite new models to help with creating the many beautiful images I put up on my private portrait gallery. Despite all the time spent capturing the beautiful faces of people, I try to draw a balance between passion and naturally my working commitments.

I reside in Singapore and my work takes me within the boundaries of Asia Pacific.
