Travelled to Bagan, Myanmar for a personal project to shoot some destination portraits.

 From up here, you can see why agriculture is the main industry in Myanmar. It accounts for 60 percent of the country’s GDP.

 The Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon is a gilded stupa and the most important Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar. The religion is practiced by 90% of the Myanmar’s population.

 The Shwedagon Pagoda isn’t the only monument gilded in gold. Many of it’s hallways, chambers and other main structures are also fully covered with golden foil.

 A short domestic flight will land you in Bagan - an ancient city that was once the capital of the Pagan Kingdom. The name Bagan is derived from Pagan.

 I always try to make it a point to interact with the local folks. It gives you a sense of their culture and their way of life.

 An elderly woman agrees to be photographed. Perhaps due to their religious nature, the Burmese people are naturally warm-hearted and kind spirited.

 From atop one of the bigger stupas (amongst thousands in the province), you will get treated to a magnificent view come sundown.

 These are the hollow Gu-style temples that adorn most of this ancient landscape. They were built extensively from 1044 to 1287 and over the course of 250 years, Bagan's rulers and their wealthy subjects constructed well over 10,000 religious monuments
