A Turkish Winter

Türkiye . 2022

Some journeys are too layered to be remembered in a single story.

In 2022, I spent eight memorable days travelling through Türkiye, visiting Istanbul, Çanakkale, Pamukkale, Cappadocia and Ankara. This first post gathers the scenic sights, epic landscapes and monumental buildings I encountered along the way, from historic streets and ancient ruins to vast natural formations and architecture shaped by centuries of culture.

Türkiye has long been a meeting point between continents, histories and civilisations. Perhaps that is why every place seemed to carry a different mood. Some were grand and unmistakable. Others revealed themselves through texture, light and the atmosphere of everyday life. Together, they offered a glimpse of a country shaped by many stories at once.

This is the first of three posts from the journey. The next is dedicated to the people I photographed, while the final post follows a more personal curiosity—the many street cats I found myself drawn to along the way.
