Genting and Malacca

MALAYSIA . 2023

Some journeys are less about discovering new places and more about spending time with the people we love.

In 2023, we took a short two-day road trip to Genting Highlands, hoping to escape Singapore's tropical heat for a little while. Along the way, we stopped in Malacca and wandered through the lively Jonker Street Night Market, taking in the sights, flavours and atmosphere of one of Malaysia's most historic cities. It wasn't an ambitious itinerary, nor was it meant to be.

Looking back at these photographs, I'm reminded that not every memorable journey needs to take us halfway around the world. Sometimes a change of scenery, a few unhurried conversations and a couple of days together are more than enough. In the end, the places we visit matter—but the people we share them with matter even more.
