Hyena Feeding Frenzy

MAASAI MARA, KENYA . 2017
Nature has a way of reminding us that survival is rarely as gentle as we might hope.
During my time in Kenya in 2017, I came across a pack of hyenas feeding on a freshly killed animal, most likely taken down by the group only moments earlier. While the scene was confronting, it was also an honest glimpse into life on the African plains. Every predator, from lions and hyenas to wild dogs and leopards, plays an essential role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem, where survival depends on instinct, opportunity and the constant search for food.
These photographs are not intended to shock, but to document a reality that is rarely witnessed firsthand. The African wilderness is breathtaking not because it is always beautiful, but because it is real. Moments like these remind us that every life on the savannah is connected, each playing its part in a cycle that has existed for thousands of years.
