Roads through Yunnan
Yunnan, China . 2024
Some places never ask us to hurry.
During my journey through Yunnan in 2024, I explored the historic towns of Dali and Lijiang, where centuries-old streets, mountain landscapes and the rhythms of everyday life create a pace that feels wonderfully different from China's larger cities. Surrounded by the beauty of the region and the rich cultural heritage of the local communities, it was easy to spend hours simply wandering, observing and taking in the atmosphere.
Perhaps every journey leaves us with something different. Yunnan reminded me that travel isn't always about seeing more—it can also be about slowing down enough to appreciate what is already there. Looking back at these photographs, I'm reminded that some of the most memorable places aren't the busiest. They're the ones that give us permission to linger a little longer.
